Arlon Food and Agriculture Investment Program (AFAP)

Continental Grain Company and Rabobank jointly sponsor an equity investment program (AFAP), targeting investments across the food and agriculture (F&A) value chain.

AFAP’s sponsors and the ACP investment team have significant experience professionalizing operations at smaller, high-growth companies. We believe that our long-term perspective allows us to be a good partner to management. The eleven person ACP investment team, with over a century of combined experience in private equity, together with our sponsors’ extensive history and commitment in F&A, makes Arlon a strong, value-added investor in the F&A space.

Investment approach

We believe that global supply and demand dynamics combined with the critical role of the U.S. in the global F&A industries will provide compelling opportunities for value creation in this sector. AFAP looks to provide long-term, growth capital and to fund small and mid-market buyouts for companies valued between $25 and $250 million. We have a well-developed process that allows us to identify and “dive” deep into potential areas of opportunity within the F&A sectors.

Long-term partnerships

We believe the needs of food and agriculture businesses and of management teams include establishing long-term partnerships with capital providers. Contrary to typical private equity investors, within AFAP we are comfortable taking a long term, across the cycle, view on value creation. Our partners can count on the ACP investment team to understand their needs.
